Our History The Florida Crew started back in mid 2007 when a couple of people started looking for other Harley riders on the internet. They came across a website called HDForums.com. Somehow, a couple of people started sending messages back and forth about doing a ride around Lake Okeechobee. The ride was posted and 12 people from the forum join in on the ride. People came from many different locations all over Florida to join this ride. Everyone met in Okeechobee at a place called Pogey's, which was a local owned restaurant, for breakfast. After eating breakfast and meeting everyone, the ride began. The ride started in Okeechobee and headed east around the lake. It was a HOT summer day, but the ride was great as well as the new friendships. During the ride a couple of riders talked about having a place to go once a year for the weekend. A place centrally located in the state where all members of the HDForums (later called The Florida Crew) could meet, ride and enjoy the kind of friendships started that summer day in 2007. This idea turned into the Florida Crew Rally in Ocala. Some of the original Florida Crew is still active today. The Florida Crew has grown from a few people meeting for a simple ride to a wonderful and diverse group. This Crew will grow, but hopefully the simplicity of its structure will remain intact for years and members to come.
